Roger Emes, originally an Altoid, [from Altoona, PA] now based in State College, PA. He joined the band in June of 2001 as a temporary fill in for the summer until we found a horn player. We never found a horn player thank Jah because Roger decided to stay with us! A prolific songwriter, he has been performing professionally for over 34 years. He studied music composition and arrangement at Penn State University and has performed in the central PA area with such bands as Nightshift, Younken Corneal and Emes and 3 D Betty. He has been writing many great songs for the forthcoming album. The deeply moving "Babylon Prayer", and the high octane "Out On The Floor" are two of his songs that are already being performed regularly at gigs. He works as a freelance session musician and has backed-up performers such as Bo Diddley. A multi-instrumentalist, he also plays the guitar, mandolin, mandola, drums, bass, accordion, and percussion. There can be no doubt that he was born to play music. Not only do we get to enjoy his high level of musicianship but, also his unparalleled wit.
